Peter O'Hagan: An Exhibition of Paintings
8 - 29 August
Peter O’Hagan, the first New Zealand artist to be awarded ‘artist-in-residence’ at Veuve Clicquot’s historic Manoir de Verzy near Reims, has recently been travelling in France, painting beautiful scenes as he discovers them. Whilst artists traditionally scrimp and save to establish their art career, luxury is the only way O’Hagan will travel, staying in luxury hotels in Paris and in the chateaux of his patrons, such as Veuve Clicquot and, more recently, the Count and Countess Dampierre’s Chateauu Chenay. Exhibition Preview.

Pankhurst Studio Gallery
Current Work
The Pamkhurst Studio Gallery celebrated its first year in Parnel, in July, with the addition of nine new paintings. Pankhurst’s paintings are realist and surrealist in style and have won him international recognition. The subjects of his distinctive original works reflect and return to his key life experiences – his country boyhood in Rapaura-Picton and Otago (landscapes), later years in Wellington (seascapes and urban images) and Auckland (interiors and still life work), where he also developed his silk screen original art work.
