Richard Boyd Dunlop: DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid)
Born in Auckland in 1973, Richard began painting whilst in his mid teens and is self taught as an artist. Having travelled extensively throughout the Pacific Islands, Australia, Europe and North Africa, Richard’s art reflects many influences from around the world and has seen him develop a very individual style of painting. This latest exhibition, entitled DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), features five large scale acrylic paintings that resonate with individual and expressive colour combinations and symbolism. These works remind us that we are all part of the symbiosis of the planet and evoke a sense of collective responsibility to the earth and to each other.

Neil Miller: I'm Never Going Back to my Old School
17 June - 12 July, 2009
Neil Miller’s sculptural practice is informed by the Constructivist movement, which originated in Russia in the early 20th century. The title of Neil Miller’s latest exhibition, I’m Never Going Back to My Old School, signals a shift from constructions in steel to working with bronze, as well as the growth and development of Miller’s artistic oeuvre. It is a curious title, as it speaks of growing-up and maturing, while using a slightly anarchistic tone. Exhibition Preview

SeaT
now showing
SeaT is the initiative of internationally renowned designer David Trubridge, and is commercially curated by Clare Mora, founder and managing director of essenze. The collection is a collaborative involving 9 New Zealand designers and is a commercial initiative with the aim of taking the experience of eating by the sea - an inherently New Zealand ideal, to the world and changing design from a solitary process to a think tank. Drawing on David and Clare's expertise, and working with designers in the mediums of glass, ceramics, metal, textile and wood, a collection of objects has sprung, formed and inspired by sharing food by the sea.

Pankhurst Studio Gallery
Current Work
The Pankhurst Studio Gallery celebrated its first year in Parnel, in July, with the addition of nine new paintings. Pankhurst’s paintings are realist and surrealist in style and have won him international recognition. The subjects of his distinctive original works reflect and return to his key life experiences – his country boyhood in Rapaura-Picton and Otago (landscapes), later years in Wellington (seascapes and urban images) and Auckland (interiors and still life work), where he also developed his silk screen original art work.
